London based actor Saeed Jaafrey has been appointed the Experience Corps’ Ambassador for Asian community in the UK in recognition of his contribution to Indian cinema. Jaafrey who began his career in All India Radio as an announcer in Delhi before starting a show for the New York Times Radio has acted in number of notable films like Gandhi, My Beautiful Launderette and Henna. Saeed Jaafrey is known for his interview with India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The actor was honoured at the launch of a website Historytalking.com where the Jaafrey spoke about his association with Raj Kapoor, Satyajit Ray and other leading actors of the film industry.
