| Maharishi
Mahesh Yogi (1917-2008) introduced Transcendental Meditation to the
West, with the intention of creating individual and global peace and
Enlightenment. After studying in the Himalayas under Guru Dev during
the 40s and 50s, Maharishi spread the teachings throughout the
world. By 1969, about four million people in over 100 countries,
including his famous disciples the Beatles, have learned the
technique. NRIfm presents this
historical BBC interview, dated 14 October 1969,
in which
Maharishi talks to Leslie Smith. The Maharishi talks about his way
of life and explains the concept and method of transcendental
meditation, TM. He also explains how TM can bring social
transformation.
