Sir Autl Chatterjee,
the then Indian High Commissioner was keenly involved in the commissioning
and construction of the building. Also present on the inauguration were
the British Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald, former prime ministers David
Lloyd and Stanley Baldwin and many Indian maharajas. |
