Raj Kapoor's Sri 420
Vivek Srivastava presents the
musical story of one of Raj Kapoor's greatest films Sri 420.
The film was a powerful comment on the India of late 50s. It focused
on the burgeoning crime, corruption and the plight of the
honest and upright small town unemployed youth.

Madhubala
and Prithviraj Kapoor in the coloured version of
Mughal-e-Azam

K Asif was virtually
illiterate and ran a tailor shop in a Mumbai
suburb, Andheri, before
he plunged himslef into film making. He created one of the
greatest classics of Indian cinema, Mughal-e-Azam
(1960). The film was hugely over budget and many
believed that a perfectionist K Asif would never
be able to complete it. Later in 2004 the film
created another world record when it became the
first monochrome film to to be fully converted
into colour. Interspersed with film's magical
music and songs, Vivek Srivastav, in his
inimitable style, tells the inside story of the
making of Mughal-e-Azam. .
